Due to the increased “Social distancing” rules applied by the Government in the National address last night the clinic has taken the decision that it has to close temporarily for routine face to face consultations. Despite “Medical reasons” being stated as an acceptable reason for leaving ones house, it refers to medical urgent care.

We are therefore adhering to our statement in our last post regarding all consultations should preferably be carried out remotely via Video live stream or over the telephone, after which a clinical decision can be made by the therapist as to the best course of action.

Only in extreme circumstances, where the therapist, after video or telephone triage deems the case “urgent”, can a face to face appointment be warranted following all the previous hygiene precautions. This has been advocated by our governing bodies Physio First and the CSP on guidance from NHS England, as a means of filtering out people who do or do not require onward referral to an Emergency department or their GP.

This approach will hopefully relieve the burden on our NHS system allowing them to deal with the current pandemic.

Therefore if anybody who requires advice or assessment they should please call the clinic on 01772 653501 and leave a message with their name and contact details so that we can reply. The messages will  be checked regularly throughout our closure.

Keep safe and well,

Lee and Victoria Barker.
